This is going to sound awful, but I have always seen clip-on earrings as an “old lady” sort of thing. Not having pierced ears was certainly more common among the older generations. I am pretty sure my grandma wore clip-on earrings. Therefore, the clip-on earrings I am familiar with have a very vintage feeling about them. Most of the ones I have seen are large, button styles. They are meant to conceal the fact they have a clip without being too heavy. So you can probably imagine my surprise when I came across the earrings you see here. Introducing the Alexis Bittar New Wave Earrings.
These huge, dangly earrings are indeed clip-ons. Wow, I certainly would not have guessed that just by looking at them! They are very edgy looking and the stones (chrysoprase) are gorgeous! Not something my grandma would have worn, that’s for sure. After thinking about it though, I do know some people who are allergic to metals like nickel. Perhaps a clip-on would provide them an opportunity to wear something fun and funky. Something gold post earrings tend not to be.
