RAW by Aster Five Day Catwalk Cleanse – day 2

I made it through Day 1, although I was left a little starved towards the end of the day yesterday. So lets hope today goes a little smoother.

First thing I did this morning was chug a glass of lemon water, popped the Action (blend of vitamins like A, B6, B12, Milk Thistle, etc) and Revive (contains Triphala) capsules plus my other daily vitamins – even though they said it was not needed. In the Catwalk Cleanse guidelines it says that the “Sleek contains many vitamins and other nutrients to help meet your daily requirements” – according to the “Sleek” powder bottle, it contains calcium 4%, iron 33% and a bunch of other vitamins but no mention of calcium, D’s, folic, etc. I take my vitamins religiously, so I’m going to continue against their recommendation. See individual bottle nutrients pictured at the bottom of this post.

Breakfast time! Even though I thought the Berry Basic Shake was really good I decided to mix things up this morning and go with the Peaches and Cream Smoothie. I used unsweetened coconut milk, couple handfuls of peaches, 1 tsp of ginger, pinch of cinnamon, 1/2 serving scoop of RAW Fiber by Garden of Life and 2 scoops of vanilla Sleek powder. Blended then served. It was so filling! The taste was okay but if I make it again this evening for dinner I’m going to toss in a banana as my fiber serving.

Mid-morning mixed 1 teaspoon of the Glamour Greens with water, shook it up then drank. As I mentioned yesterday it has sort of a diety berry aftertaste – taste like a vitaminwater. The powder mix also contains a bunch of other vegetables and fruits. (see bottom of post for nutrients)

Finally Lunch! Learning from my mistake yesterday of making the Aster Raw Blended Juice I decided to go get a salad from Whole Foods. In the box we have a couple handful of mixed greens, some cucumbers, 1 TBS of sesame seeds, 1/4 avocado and 1/2 cup of black beans. No dressing! I never put dressing on my salads so to me it tasted just fine. But if you need something to coat those leaves, then you can replace the 1/4 avocado for a light drizzle of olive oil. Tummy is full and happy!

If you told me that I would be eating a chocolate coconut patty during this “Five Day Catwalk Cleanse” I probably wouldn’t have believed you. Oh yea, that is what I ate for my Mid-Afternoon snack. I haven’t eaten chocolate in years. I can probably count how many pieces of chocolate that I’ve eaten in the past 10 years on all of my fingers. I’m just not really into it. But I do love me some coconut!

For Dinner this evening I made the Peaches & Cream Smoothie again. Blending together unsweetened coconut milk, 1 cup of peaches, 1/2 banana, 1 tsp of ginger, pinch of cinnamon and 2 scoops of vanilla Sleek powder. I’m so glad I added the banana. It tastes so much better. After that I took another Action pill.

Finishing the day with a hot shower using the Smooth body polish and Silk Nourishing Body treatment spray. I LOVE the smell of the Smooth body polish! To me it smells alot like blackthorn. After a long day and a tough workout it was a very revitalizing scent. After that I took the Revive pill.

I must make note of something, this is not a RAW DIET! Don’t get confused by the name “Raw by Aster: 5 day Catwalk Cleanse” – It’s just a cleanse. Black beans are not raw. To consume them on the raw diet you must soak and sprout your beans first. Also the Beauty Bar contains sugar-free dark chocolate, coco-butter, milk, coconut, natural favor, red A (extract from stevia), and bunch of other stuff.

The End! 3 more days to go…

Thanks for this review! Those smoothies sound really good.

Yes, the beauty bar is a chocolate coconut candy bar. Unfortunately, I’m not a big fan of raw coconut. But it didn’t matter because I was so looking forward to eating my mid-afternoon snack. =)

It is the start of Day 3 and I feel great! The first two days were challenging, but I have a better outlook for the rest of the week. Maybe because I’ve reached the “hump” and not it’s just a countdown from here.

    Best of luck!

Joanne – I know what you mean. The two days were definitely the most difficult! I’m feeling much better today now that I’m getting the hang of this new cleanse.

    Good luck!!

I saw your post on the Bag Forum about the Beauty Bar under the “RAW by Aster Detoxifying Cleanses – Five-Day Catwalk Cleanse”. I wanted to let you know that the red A is actually reb A (extract of stevia). I just wanted to make sure that your readers knew that you accidentally thought that it was red food coloring…when actually reb A is stevia.

Donna – thank you for the correction. I just wrote down a couple of the ingredients that is listed on the back of the Beauty Bar and I forgot to include the bracket note.

Without a doubt this is not your average coconut chocolate candy bar.. it’s much healthier!

    This is the exact ingredients:
Sugar-free dark chocolate, flavored coating (unsweetened cocolate, erythritol, insulin, cocoa butter, milk fat [milk], lecithin [soy] [an emulsifier], natural flavor, red A [extract of stevia]), cococnut, isomalto-oligosaccharides (prebiotic fiber), maltitol syrup, erythritol, coconut oil, colostrum, kosher gelatin, sea salt

All other nutritional fact, like serving per bar can be found pictured at the bottom of the post.
