Yves Saint Laurent Canvas Logo Saftey Pin Tote

At first I thought this was a mistake. And that the person in charge with inputting the designer information, mislabeled this bag as Yves Saint Laurent. It just doesn’t look it to me. Then upon further examination (see “YSL” in the lower right corner) I realized that this bag was in fact by Yves Saint Laurent.

Not many authentic designer handbags can be found retailing for under $200. This is sort of a rare find, especially when were talking about iconic fashion house Yves Saint Laurent.

My thoughts: love it. But a little bit too late don’t you think? The safety pin trend was so last season. Although, I don’t think that’s going to stop this fashionista from considering it.

The classic-shaped cotton canvas design features a safety pin and logo print that adorns the front. Also features double top handles which are the perfect length to carry on arm or over the shoulder. 8″ drop. Make note that the mouth of this bag features no closure and the interior is not lined. Bag measures 14.5″ width x 16.5″ height x 1/4″ depth.

I’m think this would make one fabulous eco tote!

The Yves Saint Laurent Canvas Logo Pin Tote can be found at Saks Fifth Avenue where it retails for just under $200.

Giuseppe Zanotti Diamanté skull canvas tote

Shoemaker Giuseppe Zanotti is known by many shoe addicts for his attention grabbing wedges to daytime flats. We met this designer through his first fashion debut when he was under Christian Dior, since then he has consulted for Roberto Cavalli, Missoni and Vera Wang. Then in the early 90′s he broke free and created his own shoe line. Since then he has recently added handbags to the mix. One of the bags from his latest spring collection which caught my eye, the Diamanté Skull.

Giuseppe Zanotti Diamanté skull canvas tote is so military luxe.

Dressed in a dark green canvas with camouflage-backed fringe-trimmed diamanté skull embellishment. This bag also features two brown leather top handles, red stitching, an exposed zip across top with a designer-embossed padlock and key to fasten to side of bag, studded leather straps at bottom, a zipped internal pocket with designer plaque and is fully lined in stone designer-embossed satin-twill.

The Diamante Skull Tote retails for $1,560. Check it out over at net-a-porter.

Diane von Furstenberg Love Knot Bikini

I can admit, I went a little overboard with the whole leopard animal print trend last season. You should see my closet. I have at least 11 animal print dresses which I picked up last season, for every occasion, from animal print cotton-jersey day dresses by Just Cavalli and Diane von Furstenberg to a silk chiffon leopard print cocktail dress by Valentino. And just when I thought I was getting sick of this trend, out comes Diane von Furstenberg’s new Love Knot Bikini.

grabbing my debit now..

I have to get it. Ever since I planned my vacation getaway next month I have been on the hunt for a few swimsuits, and this one is just plain fabulous. I love the color combination of the print, plus the little acetate decoration is a cute eye catching touch. Plus, hello it’s DvF! I am such an addict when it comes to her clothing and shoe lines. Now it’s time to add a piece of her swimwear to my collection.

Make note: The triangle bikini and bikini brief bottoms are sold separately. Top retails for $98 and bottoms retail for $92.

The Diane von Furstenberg Love Knot Bikini can be purchased at net-a-porter.

side note: Also available in hot pink at saks fifth avenue

120 year old Vintage Louis Vuitton Damier Trunk

There’s a boutique that I walk past everyday that has a vintage Louis Vuitton monogram trunk resting in the window. It’s in perfect condition. And each day as I walk past the window it amazes me how many window shoppers pause for a moment and visually molest it with their gazes.

Who wouldn’t kill to have a piece of Louis Vuitton history?

The Pullman Gallery in London is offering this rare, recently restored, original Louis Vuitton chocolate Damier checkerboard pattern trunk for a whopping $11,000. The trunk dates back to 1890, which is less than 40 years after Louis Vuitton was founded in Paris.

The price is steep, but for a serious Louis Vuitton collector I’m sure that wouldn’t matter one bit.

If you’re looking for a Louis Vuitton trunk for a deal, check out eBay.
