A new trend in blouses and dressy tops has popped up this season! Introducing Retro Neck Ties! The trend draws its inspiration from 1960′s style and it includes both floaty and tailored pieces. What all of these pieces have in common, however, is a skinny tie accentuating the neckline. These pieces are feminine and ladylike, making them perfect for the office. I really like the silhouettes that this trend creates. But don’t mistake these pieces for something your grandmother wore! Many have modern touches that make them feel fresh and up-to-date! Take, for example, my two favorite pieces from this trend. On the left, we have the Bird by Juicy Couture Puff Sleeve Blouse and, on the right, we have the Brian Reyes Flutter Blouse. One features pinstripes, while the other features a deep v-neckline. Each piece is unique in its own way, yet they both fit into this trend beautifully!

There’s a new line from Juicy Couture that has hit the virtual racks at ShopBop.com! It’s called Bird by Juicy Couture and it was created for “the girl with a cutting-edge sense of style”. These tailored, vintage-inspired pieces are like a breath of fresh air! They are timeless, yet a little bit quirky. And they are a far cry from the kiddie styles we have come to expect from the Juicy name. No track suits, scottie dogs, or Juicy slogans here! In fact, if I didn’t know any better, I never would have guessed that Juicy was the brains behind these pieces.

What I like most about Bird by Juicy Couture is that the pieces would blend seamlessly with other contemporary designer pieces in your existing wardrobe. But also note that the price range of this line is a bit higher. So if you’re looking to update your look with a piece from this line, I definitely recommend looking for something that can act as a cornerstone. My pick? The very lovely Sexton Jacket you see pictured here! I love the double breasted styling and layered peek-a-boo mesh lining at the back hem. So cute!

One can never have too many leather jackets. I have about 10 right now in my coat closet which I love to death, and this season I was looking around to add another addition to the mix. One that just caught my eye is this awesome leather jacket by S.W.O.R.D. What caught my attention at first was the 2-in-1 sweater hoodie built in design. But besides that, as you can tell from the picture and when you go over the the ShopBop site and see the detailed images, the Italian leather is very soft. Also what I love about the design is that the fit looks more like a fitted cardigan than a leather jacket.

Button-down shirts are super hot right now! But what is so cool about this trend is the variety that is out there! Silk or denim? Plaid or floral? Short sleeve or long sleeve? So many choices!
