A few years ago, I walked into the HBO store in New York City to see if they had any “Sex and the City” goodies I could snatch up. I was a huge fan of the show when it was on air and I’m still a huge fan years after it was cancelled. One time when I went in the store I saw a key chain that said, “Shopping is my Cardio” and you better believe I bought it! I still have it and it hangs proudly from my keys.
To say I like Helmut Lang is an understatement. I’m kinda obsessed. I just love how his clothes fit. So comfortable and stylish it’s impossible to not fall in love.
Cynthia Vincent is well-known for making sexy, comfortable clothes. One of her latest Fall pieces is this blanket lounge sweater. I have a sweater that looks alot like this, only it’s made of cashmere and has a hoodie (designer Jamison), and as you can image is so much more high-maintenance than this textured knit (42% wool/30% nylon/28% mohair). What I love most about the style (as the name suggest, the “Blanket Sweater”) is that it’s perfect for any of those lounging around days.
The basics: It’s an oversized cardigan-style sweater, features textured-knit shawl collar, banding at draped open placket, asymmetrical hem, and cuffs. 3/4 kimono sleeves.

One can never have too many leather jackets. I have about 10 right now in my coat closet which I love to death, and this season I was looking around to add another addition to the mix. One that just caught my eye is this awesome leather jacket by S.W.O.R.D. What caught my attention at first was the 2-in-1 sweater hoodie built in design. But besides that, as you can tell from the picture and when you go over the the ShopBop site and see the detailed images, the Italian leather is very soft. Also what I love about the design is that the fit looks more like a fitted cardigan than a leather jacket.
The designers behind the S.W.O.R.D. brand have more than 100 years of leather experience in their family, so they really know they’re doing when it comes to creating beautiful leather pieces.

I know I’ve mentioned this a million times in various posts here on The Fashion Row, but I love waterfall draped style sweaters. I have at-least a couple dozen that were designed in this fashion. From cheap thrills to the little bit more pricey and everything in between. At this moment, my favorite two pieces in my closet are soft pink oversized cashmere with hoody by Jamison and a navy blue cotton by the designer Line.
Adding to my little collection.. today the mailman came with my Gold Hawk package, and unlike any of my other sweaters before, this one is designed a little bit different. There is a piece of fabric that reaches from my arm to my side — think bird wings. Or better yet, “Hawk”. hah
I do love the Sweetheart Shrug, but the arm situation just needs some getting useto.
The Shrug is very light weight with a transparent neckline detail (100% Silk) and knit back (85% Silk, 15% Cashmere).

Just make note that they don’t show you how the sleeves look really look in person on the website. In my opinion the sleeves are a bit of a challenge.
When French designer Sonia Rykiel, who is well-known for her signature unique bold sweaters (her nickname “Queen of Knits”), debuted the Ruffle Silk chiffon blouse at the latest runway showing, I had a pausing moment where I couldn’t decide whether this was a fab piece or just a drab.
Unique it is, with this long dangling jellyfish tentacle looking ruffles..
The rust-colored demi-sheer silk chiffon blouse is made of 100% silk (trim: 80% cotton, 15% rayon, 5% sinflex) with a knitted bronze Lurex ruffle trim and topped off with bow on front, long sleeves, elongated cuffs and simply slips on. The Ruffle Silk Sweater retails for $1,545.
