I’m an old school kind of gal. I love old school fashion like pencil skirts, Frank Sinatra is my favorite singer and my idol is Audrey Hepburn. If I could live in any era it would either be the 40′s, 50′s or 60′s. The fashion of those eras was impeccable, classy and simply stunning. I even loved how men dressed back in the day and it made me fall in love with fedoras. I’m not sure there is a hat that is more classy than the fedora but it is lovely when I see people where them today. It brings back a little bit of old school fashion to today. I currently own one fedora and it sits proudly on my mannequin in my room.

I saw someone walking around on the university campus wearing one of those furry animal hoods the other day. The funny thing was that it was a guy wearing the hood! I had always thought these hoods were for little kids, but I guess they really are for everybody. I took a look at the current selection for these hoods and came across one that has started to grow on me a little bit. Meet the Spirit Hoods Leopard Hood! The idea behind this line is that you are channeling your spirit animal by wearing one of their hoods. It says that people with the snow leopard spirit tend to be empathetic and wise. Not bad traits. What drew me in though was the muted leopard spot pattern on a white background. The faux fur on this piece looks nice, not tacky. And the ears, although a little kiddie, are kind of cute. I suppose wearing this piece would require some ambition. If you’re able to pull it off, then I say go for it! We all need to channel our inner child every once in awhile.

Hair accessories are a must for me. Primarily because my hair is boring. I may have been Pantene’s First Reality Hair Star in 2010 because my hair is long and straight but that gets old after a while. I do see the struggles my friends and family go through with curly hair but sometimes I wish I could just do something to mine, even a wave! Since my hair is straight as an arrow and literally can’t be styled, I turn to hair accessories and hats to spruce up my look.

The cold weather has arrived all over the nation and it’s time to bring out our fashionable cold weather accessories. One accessory I saw on Shop Bop that caught my eye was the Eugenia Kim “Tara” Turban. I would never think to wear a Turban when it’s cold out, but I like the idea! I mean let’s face it, it’s not everyday we see someone wearing a turban down the street and it can bring some uniqueness to your cold weather wardrobe.

I love wearing hats especially ones that cover my ears. Whenever I’m in the extreme cold, like in New York City, my ears get so cold that sometimes I can’t even feel them! Soon it will start getting cold for some parts of the world, and nothing is better than being fashionably prepared. Living in Florida, I don’t get the cool air very often but if I’m going away I stock up on fashionable cold weather essentials.

I remember before a trip to New York one year, my Mother urged me to purchase earmuffs and I refused. To me, they looked so tacky looking and I wanted to look as stylish as possible especially in a city like New York. Little did I know, it would be absolutely freezing in New York and the coldest part of my body was in fact my ears! I can remember like it was yesterday being near Chinatown and I couldn’t feel my ears. Luckily, there was a vendor selling earmuffs and I bought a cheap pair immediately. I vowed that the next time I was to be in New York in the freezing cold, I’d buy a stylish pair of earmuffs and not be so stubborn!

The Diane von Furstenberg “Lothbury” Earmuffs are my ideal pair. Most of my cold weather clothes are all black and white, so these would match perfectly with my wardrobe! Plus, maybe you wouldn’t be able to see the earmuff too much since my hair is really dark anyway! Gorgeous pair, and not too tacky! I like them!

I’m all into Peace, Love and Happiness so it’s no surprise that when I saw the Sakroots “Peace” Large Headphones I was in awe. Not very many people in the world are peaceful and I think anywhere you can display or write some type of message of peace it will make people think. No matter where you wear these headphones, people are going to look at read them. The vibrant colors stick out like a sore thumb, so you can’t help but read the inspirational word on them.

I’ve always been a fan of oversized headphones. They kind of remind me of DJ headphones and I’ve always loved the ones Skull Candy. I’ve been craving a pair of them in pink but they seem to be impossible to find these days. After finding these Sakroots ones I think I’m sold. Well ladies, as of a few days ago, it is officially Fall! Am I happy about this? Well… not really. I am not particularly fond of the colder months. But you know what I do like? Cold weather hats, scarves, and gloves! They are an fun way to play with your look, especially when you’re limited to just one or two coats for the whole season. You can change your whole look, simply by switching out your cold weather accessories. And since I already love Diane von Furstenberg, you can imagine my excitement when I saw her cold weather accessories on ShopBop.com’s virtual shelves!

What I like about these pieces is that they are cute, yet modern. Who knew you could have chunky knits without looking kiddie? The items I have pictured here are from my favorite group. The Tuto Hat features beret-like styling and four feminine rosettes, while the Colly Scarf features cute pom-pom ends. And the Parcment Fingerless Gloves? I have actually had a thing for fingerless gloves lately and these are long, almost like arm warmers. Fun!

I am SO sick of rain. A seemingly endless stream of storms rolling across the central U.S. this last month has led to some pretty impressive (possibly even record-breaking) precipitation totals. Where I live, normal precipitation for the month of June is something like 3 inches total. However, in some places, more than 15 inches of rain has already fallen. Yikes! Oh well, at least this gives me a reason to buy a new umbrella. And one style in particular has caught my eye. It’s the Felix Rey “Rain Rain Go Away” Clear Bubble Umbrella. I absolutely love this umbrella! The clear bubble style is so hot right now and it seems like celebrities are photographed carrying one all the time! But this clear bubble umbrella is different because it has a touch of whimsy as well! Printed on one side, you will find an adorable doodled heart. On the other side, you will find the words “Rain Rain Go Away” (from the nursery rhyme). So cute! And a great way to brighten up a dark and cloudy day. Plus, buying a new umbrella is a surefire way to bring on some sunny weather!
