When I think of Miu Miu, I think of the designer’s sophisticated-looking handbags. If we’re talking shoes, I usually picture chic and classic pumps. Perhaps a bright color or some glitter here and there. Nothing too wild though. Cowboy boots? Miu Miu? Those two things don’t sound like they belong in the same sentence, but it’s true. Not only are they cowboy boots though, Miu Miu decided to go the extra mile by adding some whimsy to the design. Yes, these tonal gray leather boots are adorned with lime green leaves and white rosettes. They are definitely different! Seeing the new cruise collections each year is always so exciting. Why? These inter-season collections have a way of washing away those winter blues. The bright colors, light-weight fabrics, playful designs… what’s not to like? And they are especially enjoyable if you are lucky enough to be headed somewhere warm for a winter vacation. You know, warm sandy beaches and drinks with those tiny umbrellas. Ahhhhh!
So I stumbled across the Miu Miu Cruise 2011 Collection over at mytheresa.com and something really caught my eye. Introducing the Miu Miu Chain-Link Collection! Bright, vibrant colors and plastic chain details are the highlights of these pieces. My opinion? A little kiddie, but oh so cute! What I like best is that these pieces are not typical of Miu Miu. I love it when designers try something new! My two favorite pieces are the Miu Miu Chain-Link Bag and Heart Chain-Link Necklace. The bag, constructed of fire engine red canvas, features a triple compartment inside. It is perfect for keeping your items neat and organized, despite its compact size! The necklace, on the other hand, it big and chunky. The blue and red chain links are encrusted with crystals and the plastic is slightly transparent. Fun!
