Porcupines are such cute critters! Believe it or not, they are the third largest rodent in the world (only smaller than beavers and capybaras). Their quills are made of keratin and they can vary in shape/size from species to species. What I find interesting is that the quills have long been used for decorative purposes such as in jewelry or artwork. They aren’t something you see very often anymore though. So it was no wonder I was excited when I spotted the Kristen Elspeth African Quill Necklace!
