American Fashion Cookbook

In the last two years I have fallen in love with cooking. It’s a lot of fun and definitely saves you a lot of money. Eating out these days can be really costly and cooking does cost a fraction of the price. When I cook, I like cooking from scratch. Ever since I started cooking, I have purchased over 10 cookbooks. My favorite cookbook will always be one that my favorite restaurant in New York, Carmines, published. Carmines is my favorite Italian restaurant in the city and they released a book that features the recipe from every item on their menu!

RAW by Aster Five Day Catwalk Cleanse – day 5

DONE! I made it through the 5 day Raw by Aster (don’t get confused by the name, not really a raw cleanse) Five Day Cleanse Catwalk Cleanse!

Day 5 went as smoothly as all the other days. It flowed identical to my third day of the cleanse. Same routine. For breakfast I enjoyed a Strawberry Smoothie, mid-morning was the glamour greens, lunch I went to Chipotle and ordered the BLR (Beans, Lettuce and brown Rice), mid-afternoon repeat glamour greens, then the Berry Basic Smoothie for dinner. With lots of water and caffeine-free herbal tea throughout the day.

RAW by Aster Five Day Catwalk Cleanse – day 4

Within 15 minutes of waking up this Morning I drank a glass of fresh squeezed lemon water and took the Action (blend of vitamins like A, B6, B12, Milk Thistle, etc), Revive (contains Triphala) and my other daily vitamins.

Then about 20 minutes later it was time for Breakfast. This morning I decided to veer off of the Raw by Aster smoothie menu plan and make a Blueberry Smoothie. I don’t think the team over at Aster would mind too much. Blueberries are jammed pack with vitamin C, Fiber, Manganese plus they’re an excellent source of antioxidants. It was so good that when I finished my last spoonful I was left wishing I had more!

Blueberry Smoothie: 1 cup of blueberries, 2 scoops of vanilla Sleek powder and 1 cup of unsweetened coconut milk.

RAW by Aster Five Day Catwalk Cleanse – day 3

When I woke up this morning I have to admit, I did not want another smoothie. I’m just not used to having them twice a day for breakfast and dinner, but hey I’m going to keep at it. I ain’t no quitter. I already made it through the first two days of the Raw by Aster Five Day Catwalk so it’s all down hill from here.

This was my day…

Like clockwork, woke up this Morning drank a glass of warm lemon water and took the Action (blend of vitamins like A, B6, B12, Milk Thistle, etc), Revive (contains Triphala) and my other daily vitamins. For Breakfast I made a Strawberry Smoothie. Mixing together a cup of strawberries, 1/2 a serving scoop of RAW Fiber by Garden of Life, 2 scoops of vanilla Sleek powder and 1 cup of unsweetened coconut milk. Blended together and ate.

RAW by Aster Five Day Catwalk Cleanse – day 2

I made it through Day 1, although I was left a little starved towards the end of the day yesterday. So lets hope today goes a little smoother.

First thing I did this morning was chug a glass of lemon water, popped the Action (blend of vitamins like A, B6, B12, Milk Thistle, etc) and Revive (contains Triphala) capsules plus my other daily vitamins – even though they said it was not needed. In the Catwalk Cleanse guidelines it says that the “Sleek contains many vitamins and other nutrients to help meet your daily requirements” – according to the “Sleek” powder bottle, it contains calcium 4%, iron 33% and a bunch of other vitamins but no mention of calcium, D’s, folic, etc. I take my vitamins religiously, so I’m going to continue against their recommendation. See individual bottle nutrients pictured at the bottom of this post.

Breakfast time! Even though I thought the Berry Basic Shake was really good I decided to mix things up this morning and go with the Peaches and Cream Smoothie. I used unsweetened coconut milk, couple handfuls of peaches, 1 tsp of ginger, pinch of cinnamon, 1/2 serving scoop of RAW Fiber by Garden of Life and 2 scoops of vanilla Sleek powder. Blended then served. It was so filling! The taste was okay but if I make it again this evening for dinner I’m going to toss in a banana as my fiber serving.

RAW by Aster Detoxifying Cleanses – day 1

I have officially started the Raw by Aster “Five-Day Catwalk Cleanse.” I’m not new to cleansing and detoxes, in fact I’m just coming off of a 14 day Raw Vegan / Juice Detox and this Raw by Aster Catwalk is my grand finale ending.

So here’s my day one of following the steps of the program:

First thing I did this morning was chug a glass of warm lemon water, popped the Action (blend of vitamins like A, B6, B12, Milk Thistle, etc) and Revive (contains Triphala) pills. Then I made the Berry Basic Shake. The shake was pretty darn delicious. Strawberries, 2 scoops of vanilla Sleek powder, coconut milk and 1/2 scoop of RAW Fiber by Garden of Life. Yummm!

Hermes ‘Balcon Du Guadalquivir’ Dish

When designers know that their name is big, they’ll practically put their name on almost anything since they know it will sell. French Couture brand Hermes is no stranger to this; just take a look at their home collection of porcelain goods. A line of designer dishes and soup bowls for your kitchen, are they necessary? Not really, but if you do have the extra cash lying around, eating off designer plates doesn’t sound so bad. One dish will cost you $315, and depending on the size of your dining room, well, you do the math…
