Books with Style “A Guide To Elegance”

As I get older, I become more and more obsessed with the 60′s era. Back then etiquette was a must, fashion was classy and even celebrities were elegant. I’m currently in acting school and when people ask me who my idols are I always say Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor. Even at my age now, I’m currently in my 20′s, I absolutely love Frank Sinatra. If I could listen to a song for the rest of my life it would be “Fly Me to the Moon”. Maybe I lived in that era and was brought back? Who knows but one thing is for sure everything had a sense of elegance back then.

Obsession: Kate Spade Dictionary Clutch

Dictionaries may not be as hot as they use to be, but this Kate Spade Wordsmith Dictionary Clutch is something to talk about.

What I love about this little clutch is that sure it may look like an ordinary book on the outside, with it’s golden letter embossed leather cover, but the inside reveals a spacious stripe-lined interior.

Pair it with a pair of hot pink gold tip Sigerson Morrison Log Pumps and the Club Monaco Ella Shirt.

American Fashion Cookbook

In the last two years I have fallen in love with cooking. It’s a lot of fun and definitely saves you a lot of money. Eating out these days can be really costly and cooking does cost a fraction of the price. When I cook, I like cooking from scratch. Ever since I started cooking, I have purchased over 10 cookbooks. My favorite cookbook will always be one that my favorite restaurant in New York, Carmines, published. Carmines is my favorite Italian restaurant in the city and they released a book that features the recipe from every item on their menu!

The ingenious collaboration of innovative style, design and education encourages youths to be more inquisitive on what they are passionate about, instilling a desire to “learn with style”. Using an authentic approach and based on the philosophy that there is a “science” to everything thus opportunities to learn all around us, Street Science delivers in the most unexpected format and the Fall review reflects this in five groups: Beat Street – pays tribute to hip hop’s influence on pop culture and today’s trends, while Droppin Jewels – shows that knowledge is a commodity. The Blue Print- takes the curiosity of how something’s made by turning it inside out on the cover. Prints& Patterns – is a spin on today’s mix of classic and contemporary style. Camo – symbolizes a popular pattern on the streets and represents the history of a protective concealment turned fashion statement.

“At Street Science we believe that the pursuit of knowledge begins with a spark of inspiration; Street Science is more than a brand, it’s a lifestyle statement” says Founder Joseph Anthony. “You can’t deny the influence that urban and pop culture has on today’s youth. We are just leveraging the power of that culture to inspire students to want to learn”.

Book: This Little Piggy Went To Prada

72 pages filled with a twist on our favorite classics re-written by Amy Allen plus fantastic colorful illustrations by Eun-Kyung Kang.

Dying to take peak as to what’s inside. Here’s a sneak peak…

“This little piggy went to Prada,
This little piggy went to Cannes,
This little piggy dined at Nobu,
And this little piggy, Hakkasan.
And this little piggy went ‘Wee wee wee wee!’
All the way home because she had a fat bottom!”

(to the tune of Frère Jacques)
“Louis Vuitton, Louis Vuitton,
Mulberry, Mulberry?
Nappy bag dilemma – Lulu, Kate or Anya?
Shopping spree, buy all three.”

“There was a young woman who lived in her Choos,
Though she once had a house in a smart Chelsea Mews.
So much on Jimmy,
The house had to go,
And with it, her Amex and husband in tow!”

“Pussycat, pussycat, where have you been?
I’ve been to London to see McQueen,
Pussycat, pussycat, what did you there?
I bought the collection and kissed lots of air.”

“Twinkle, twinkle, diamond ring,
In a blue box tied with string.
Tiffany’s new princess cut,
Twice the size of baby’s butt.
Twinkle twinkle, show your spark,
Can’t change nappies in the dark.”

You can find this adorable new flip through at ShopTwigs for a reasonable $20. Or stroll on over to online library Amazon and find it for even cheaper, on sale for only $13.57.

update!!!
So I went for a stroll on down to my neighborhood Barnes and Nobles to pick up a copy and snagged the very last one in stock. Apparently it was a hit this holiday season. Anyway, the colorful watercolor illustrations are amazing, plus the nursery rhymes are a great read.
