Everyone knows I’m a sucker for tassels and fringe. When it comes to handbags, fringe has sort of become one of those “trends” that never really goes away. Fringe pops up on other accessories too, like shoes and jewelry. All are wonderful in my book! But what about fringe on a belt? The thought took me back to my middle school days, when hippie-inspired pieces were in. I had a cream crocheted belt with the loose string ends dangling free. The Maison Martin Margiela Fringe Belt is different though. What gives this belt a more updated look is the extra wide width (3 inches) and over sized rectangular buckle (instead of a tie closure). It is also a tighter knit, rather than an open crochet. Plus it’s black and black is always timeless! Simply wear it over one of today’s long tunic tops and you have yourself a fresh new look!
